Nido Qubein Makes Top Ten Best Communicator's List Again for 2006

HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 4, 2007 - One of the country's leading and largest communications training firms, San Francisco-based Decker Communications, has again named High Point University President Nido Qubein to its Top Ten Communicators list, alongside such prestigious names as Sen. Barack Obama; Rick Warren, author of the best-selling book "The Purpose-Driven Life;" and humanitarian/actress Angelina Jolie.

Qubein, who is the only repeat from last year's list, moved up from number 9 to number 6.

"It is quite an honor to again be recognized as one of the Top Ten Best Communicators," said Qubein. "One of my core beliefs, and one that I share often with the students here, is that good communication skills are essential for success."

Decker leaders say Qubein influenced so much in 2006 he must be included again. They go on to say that, "he continues to communicate his vision of the world in a way that positively impacts tens of thousands. It is there (as president of High Point University) that this one man has single handedly inspired his team to literally transform a University in the space of less than two years. $100 million dollars raised, 10 new buildings, a tangible new spirit of "WOW" on a campus that is doubling in applications, inquiries, and results."

The other top 10 communicators are: 1. Sen. Barack Obama; 2. Pastor Rick Warren; 3. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi; 4. National Commander of the Salvation Army in the U.S., Israel Gaither; 5. Angelina Jolie; 7. Guy Kawasaki; 8. Tavis Smiley; 9. Jim Cramer; and 10. Jon Stewart.

The entire list – and its counterpart, The Top Ten Worst Communicators of 2006 – can be found at www.bertdecker.com, and is published this week in the San Francisco Examiner.
